Sam Garza

    Sam (she/her/hers) started her involvement with Health Inequalities during her time at Duke through global health courses and involvement in community outreach and activism with marginalized communities. During her Master’s degree she became interested in Health Policy and worked with Lincoln Community Health Center (LCHC) to take a more active role in addressing social determinants of health by eliminating the language barrier that exists for some of LCHC’s patients. Currently she is involved in community outreach as the Research Coordinator for Proyecto Luz 2.0 which looks into immigration policy and its effects on the utilization of health resources by Latinx immigrants in NC.
