During Summer 2026, CHPIR engaged student interns in a research initiative focused on connecting with Duke University faculty conducting mental health research. The interns reviewed faculty research to identify projects incorporating resilience concepts and examined how resilience was defined and measured. They actively engaged with faculty and research teams, gathered and organized relevant information, and developed a comprehensive databank of resilience measures, including surveys, data collection methods, and examples of Duke faculty and projects that have utilized these measures. This work provided a valuable resource for supporting future research and collaboration related to resilience and mental health.

Students from Eastern North Carolina participated in the ENC-Heal Research Projects, gaining hands-on opportunities to support the planning, coordination, and implementation of community health initiatives focused on youth across the region.
